Boxing Classes Nightly
With boxing classes every evening, You will get all the training and coaching you will need to learn the science behind the sport.
Boxing at the Perth Kickboxing Academy is our foundation. The other styles of martial arts are built upon our big punching fast moving style. We combine selected defensive moves with an aggressive level change MMA attack and a mobile Muay Thai game that has been tested and proven in the competition circuit.
What we do different
It has been very hard to develop a system that will meet all of the needs that a beginner or an advanced competitor may need. The way we approached this challenge has resulted in a flexible and evolving class style that tries to address the most important attribute that a boxer requires.
Although there are no ‘fitness’ elements to the Boxing classes per say, you will get fit, because the sport demands a specific physicality and our system addresses this as best it can. So, in other words, you will not be doing anything that can be considered fitness only and every drill or exercise is developing attributed directly related to competitive success.
The evolution of how we teach boxing has changed regularly. Over the years, hundreds of beginners and dozens of fighters we have seen and reassessed how we teach many times over.
To turn a raw beginner into a sound boxer in a short amount of time is not an easy thing to do. We are always looking for ways of finding the right balance between drills and skills and getting them physically ready to compete.

If you have trained at an advanced level in Boxing you will know how difficult it is to combine the fitness and the technique in the one system. This is ideal for those of you not just seeking a high intensity ‘sweat and slap session’ style that you may find in fitness ‘boxing; classes.

Are you bored with wasting time in generic fitness session but want to get fit and also have an interest in the sport? Technical boxing classes will not only improve your health the benefits can be much greater. Perhaps by working towards some of the other goals that boxing offers, such as:

What to expect?

The Bag/Jog session starts at 5:00 pm, but is flexible to allow for people who may be traveling from work. The coached boxing classes begin at 6:00 Pm and runs for an hour, leading into the sparring. No pressure to spar.
A beginner may be only allowed to spar body, or ‘tag’ spar without gloves for several weeks or longer until the are ready to do more competitive sparring. There are several forms of sparring that are no full on. This is important so as to keep our stable working every night fresh and free of injuries.
Sparring and serious fight training not included in classes
Who is it suited for?
Although it is a great sport for everyone, our club is not for everyone. We do welcome beginners, but the classes are not a fitness style aerobics session. Students are not hit or made to spar, but the training is technical and athletic.
The sport of boxing is just like any other sport and requires a certain level of fitness. Just as someone would not jump straight into a local footy squad. A level of fitness is recommended before joining classes.
Perth Kickboxing Academy is looking for people have played sport at any level, done martial arts or gym workouts before and are in general good health.
