Perth Kickboxing Academy dedicates its self to our team winning in competition. First of all, classes are only run with performance as an objective. Although boxing classes will make you fitter, lose fat, gain strength and increase endurance this is not the goal. Therefore all our drills and conditioning regimes are specific to the demands of the sport. Many fitness or commercial martial art gyms often settle for simpler exercises, not necessarily performance. As we do not attract fitness only or casual participants we can advance our classes to focus on more elite attributes such as:
Because representing your MMA Gym and team, is the greatest honour a student can give his club, we support our fighters with discounted membership. As well as giving them a ranking of an instructor giving them the position to pass their knowledge on. Teaching is also a great learning opportunity for a young fighter. Being able to pass on their experience to the next wave of students keeps the system fresh. By learning the system the adapting it to suit you it allows improvisation and improvements without losing the core of the style.
Road to Compete
From your first session to your first bout can take varying lengths of time depending on a student. The younger someone starts or having a background in professional or semi-professional sport speeds up ones progress. The choice of competition also dictates the path chosen. For those interested in MMA we recommend grappling competition first, the striking in its individual forms, the MMA. For Boxers or Kickboxers, it’s a little simpler. There is no definite order to choose from these two, but starting in Boxing is recommended. Picking a weight category, and a style based on a student’s strengths are all part of the programming.
